New world everywhere

The other day my husband and I went for a walk at the Philosophenweg facing the Heidelberg Castle on the banks of Neckar. The old town of Heidelberg stood majestically on the other side of the Neckar river. Between the old buildings stood those colourful long necks straining to create a new world. Here are some pictures.

In between the roofs in old town and even on the opposite side of the Neckar the cranes crane to give a glimpse of their dance to those living in the old town… a sinister reminder of the things to come?

Even the barge or black & white could not remove the feeling of new world taking over the old… The Stadthalle behind the cruise boat wore his crown proudly – all the classical concerts and other cultural activities happen here. We had been to a Salsa club in the cellar last weekend.

The old church and the bridge stands testimony over the many changes that have occurred over the centuries.

The pendulum of the crane disappearing behind the trees into the slopes creating probably a new house or an office for someone who wants to see the castle.

The symmetry still could not be missed. It did take me back to those days of Pythagorus theorems.

The mixing of the old world and the modern. I am trying to figure out if I really like it or not. Yet we, do see a lot of it around.

    I think it’s beautiful.
